THE FRIENDS
The Friends are civic-minded neighbors who know that quality library service is important to their community.  Their goals are to support, improve and promote the library by enlisting public support, by informing the public of the library’s services and by raising money to purchase items for the library.

Membership is open to everyone and we encourage anyone interested in supporting their library to join.  Members wanting to have a more active role in the Friends should also attend the monthly Action Committee meetings held the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00pm in the library's Community Room.  Attendance is not a requirement of membership.

FREE HOME DELIVERY PROGRAM
It's easy to help a homebound person who loves to read.  Call Lori at 878-2915 or email Dolores at dvlismas@biodex.com.  (Please add "FOL Home Delivery" to the subject line of your email.)

THRIFT SHELVES
The two Friends thrift shelves filled with books are located near the front desk and are available to the public year round.  Suggested donations are $1.00 for hard covers and 50¢ for soft covers and ten for $1.00 for children's books.

Starting May 2011 look for our SPOTLIGHT section, which will have specific authors or subject matter for the month.  We hope you will enjoy this new feature.  Also, watch for our special "10¢ Sales" of thrift books.

Your donations are vital to our continued success and are always welcomed!  Books, DVDs, and CDs in good condition can be brought to the library all year long during regular hours of operation.  We cannot take magazines or encyclopedias as our space does not allow for their storage.

To make a book donation, bring your box or bag of books marked "FOL" and leave it in the corner next to the thrift shelf.

MONDAY GAMES AND MONDAY MOVIES
The Friends proudly sponsor afternoon games in the library's Community Room each Monday afternoon starting at 1:30 until closing at 6:00pm.  Enjoy a friendly game of Mah Jongg, Scrabble, cards and other table-top games along with great conversation.

On the last Monday of each month a different film is shown in a theater-like setting on the big screen in the community room.

IMPORTANT: Please include your telephone number with your reservation so we may contact you concerning any problem or changes.  Telephone numbers are needed only for Friends of the Library business and will be kept confidential.

You do NOT have to be a member of the Center Moriches Library
or of the Friends of the Library to join us.

* Reserve your seat as soon as possible.
 A seat may ONLY be held upon receipt of payment by check.
No reservations are made verbally.

* Make checks payable to: Friends of the Library, and mail to:

OR - Use the Friends mailbox in the library located to the right of the Thrift Shelf . 

* Reservations for more than one trip may be made with a single check.

* All trips depart from and return to the parking lot at the rear of the library.  Please carpool to the library when possible.

* Buses must adhere to scheduled departure and return times.  Be present at least 15 minutes before departure and return.

* Should there be a change of the announced times of a scheduled trip, please refer to your confirmation for the correct times.

* To receive full refund, a telephone call or a cancellation request in writing must be received within 10 days before the trip, otherwise the payment will be forwarded to the bus company and is not refundable.
